Description
This course introduces students to the art of tea through hands-on practice and cultural exploration. Each session focuses on one type of tea, its classification, and its proper brewing method. As students progress, they will deepen their understanding of how tea connects to traditional culture — including utensils, the environment, and complementary arts such as flower arrangement, calligraphy, and incense.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
(1) Brew different types of tea using basic utensils.
(2) Identify tea classifications and their unique brewing methods.
(3) Create a simple tea-drinking atmosphere with proper arrangement.
(4) Host a tea session and appreciate tea as part of Chinese cultural tradition.
Course Structure
This course consists of 4 weekly sessions, each lasting 1 hour.
Students are encouraged to practice tea preparation during their free time to enrich everyday life.
Class Schedule
Lesson 1: Introduction to brewing one type of tea and using basic utensils.
Lesson 2: Creating a tea atmosphere through simple arrangements and practices.
Lesson 3: Enhancing the tea experience with flower arrangement, calligraphy, painting, and incense.
Lesson 4: Designing and hosting a complete tea session independently.
Target Audience
This course is designed for students of various grade levels. Suitable for beginners, with or without prior tea-drinking experience.
Prerequisites
No prior experience is required. Students with some familiarity with tea may progress more quickly.

Basic tools include:
Teapot (1)
Lidded bowl (1)
Fairness cups (1–3)
Several teacups
Power outlet and extension cord
Tea table and chairs, or floor seating with cushions

Instructor Information
Different tea instructors may be invited to provide diverse styles and experiences. Each session will be planned and prepared in advance to ensure an authentic and meaningful tea encounter.
